An item on the BBC News site reckons rock and pop stars are likely to die young.
And two thirds of the deaths have links to drink or drugs.
The average age of death for European rockers is 35.
And for the US.................... 42 !

The ages sound a little young. As many stars die young there's some already like Chuck Berry who have hit 80. Something in the low '50s would sound more correct.
There's a lot of reasons for the brief life spans including drugs. It is a highly stressful lifestyle. Lots of touring which gives you the constant travel inferior food, lots of pressure to achieve and maintain success, lots of down time away from home etc.

They looked at 1,050 'rock' stars.
Between 1956 & 2005, 100 of them had died.
The average age of those who died was 35 [Europe] & 42 [US].
The figures don't represent the life expectancy of a rock star, as the veterans who are still with us, like Chuck Berry & Little Richard, were excluded.

Which makes it a little pointless doesn't it? The vast majority didn't die, so to exclude them gives a very skewed picture.ColinB wrote:Maybe you misunderstood.likethebike wrote:The ages sound a little young.
