This is a similar idea to the Elvis Aron Presley Silver Boxset.

LIVE BOX

#378821

Post by TONY »

I still favour a box set follow up to "Live in Las Vegas". "Live across the USA" would feature two discs of RCA / soundboard recorded highlights, plus two discs containing complete shows, either from soundboards or maybe an unreleased "On tour" concert.

CD SET

I'd love to compile this set. I would need access to the complete vault and 6 months or so to listen to all the extant soundboards!

I don't understand the disappointment. Sony/BMG never once to my knowlege ever said anything about a possible box set for the 30th.

I have no doubt that a suitable box set could be compiled to please most of the FAN (atics). But since Sony/BMG are in business to make money what could possibly be left in the vaults that would convince enough of the general public to part with their hard earned money to make such a venture profitable?

There will be early live performances on the upcoming SUN package Ernst has been working on.

Not sure if there is a full cd of studio jams. That one would be pure fantasy.

Lost movie songs? What would those be?

Another TTWII show is always welcomed, but why not just issue it on FTD?

It would be nice if Sony released something I could buy, I have not bought any of their releases except FLAMING STAR and LETS BE FRIENDS. I really miss the summer box sets. How about a best of FOLLOW THAT DREAMS. They could just issue the FTDS so us that haven't been able to get them can.

The one boxset most fans would agree on is a long overdue Elvis On Tour package. There is no reason why the Hampton Roads show should continue gathering dust in the vaults....

You are 1000% correct midnightx :!: :!: :!:

I do have an optimistic feeling that once an Elvis On Tour set/package should see the light of day, ( I hope be4 I croak), it will meet with lucrative sales figures :!:

I certainly hope that some day Ernst & Co. find the "lost" outtakes for these movies so that they can release FTD version of these soundtracks.
Til then....?

hey TONY,

Hows this for a concept? Let's have a double CD of THAT'S THE WAY IT IS - 40th anniversary
edition featuring the original 12 track R.C.A Victor album and the
second CD of one of the unreleased multitrackers, August 11 D.S. earmarked
for 2010!

How does that grab ya?

Sounds good to me! EXCEPT CD #3.
Any STUDIO/OUTTAKES are interesting.
Is Ernst really the man to decide?
Does he have/own this material??!!

"From three different sources," ranted Elvis, "I heard that I was strung out on heroin... I've never been strung out in my life..." Then Elvis explodes, "If I find or hear the individual that has said that about me," he threatened, "I'm gonna BREAK your GODDAMNED neck, you SON OF A BITCH! These reports are dangerous," he emphasised, "are damaging to my little daughter, to Priscilla, to my father, my doctor, my friends, everyone on stage and," he motioned to the audience, "to you...." Then he pointed at his invisible accuser, "I will pull your GODDAMNED tongue from the ROOTS!!!" he thundered.

I have no doubt that the only further deluxe treatment the "That's The Way It Is" album will be subject to is an FTD Classic Album package.

That's The Way It Is - Special Edition seems to be the extended release of that album. Not sure if it will get the Classic Album treatment....

it will depend if in the year 2010, EJ decides to change the concept
of FTD "classic albums" series. So to all the FTD knockers, it's his baby and Ernst's entitled
to do anything he wants with it.

I sure as hell hope the original TTWII album gets the FTD 'classic' treatment because the way that album is now stinks.
