The bottom bit about Andy Solt - was that the Lost Performances release that's referring to ?

As for the rest, I'm a little puzzled. Where is it ? what is the blue version of The Wonder Of You ?

also, the 16th August is mentioned.

Christian, I cannot see the bottom image, I can only see the top one.

NOW IT S OK !!!

There's a lot there that raises questions.
The red ladder suit ending is the same as the original TTWII ending, from the camera at the back angle, but not the performance of Cant Help Falling in Love.

Baby What You Want Me to Do on the stool ? Christian, I'm thinking two engagements here, not just TTWII Aug 1970.

Elvis was not known to have sung this song in Vegas in 1970 - but 1969. The description of the suit is vague as it just says "white" for this song.

surely that wan't footage from.......nah. what do you reckon ?

Sat Dec 24, 2005 1:09 am

YES Steve
Baby what you want me to do in white
we can think to this also

Also, when referring to the "tassle" suit, the author mentions I Got A Woman. That wasn't performed on opening night, and so that insinuates a second filmed show of Elvis in that suit.

Also, a second verison of Wonder Of You in the Red Ladder Suit? Again, this suggests a second filmed show in this suit.

As always, more questions than answers, and my appetite is well and truly Whetted!

Anne E Nixon, I think, also wrote an article for EM called something like Elvis is like Quality street ( brand of sweets), made for sharing, when she refers to TTWII out-takes. I'll see if I can dig it out.

I posted about this article months ago and most felt CJ Rowe was simply mistaken. But he's quite specific about what he's seen as you can see from the full article. I'd sure like to see that version of Baby What You Want Me To Do.

Sat Dec 24, 2005 1:56 am

I think also a second show withe the red ladder suit is filmed by camera
at the end of the TTWII original version we see E doing a signe withe is finger
Image
this is shoot by camera from the back of stage up the orchestra
same who shoot the day after
Image
but during the footage we know withe red ladder suit we don t seen this camera posted on tripod up back stage

Christian, your comments are far more interesting than the Rowe article, which seems to be a conflation of information from video and audio sources.

Baby What YOu Want Me To Do??? If he REALLY saw this I am happy!!
Maybe on August 15th or 16th since we don´t know any tracklisting? Or 1969??????????? I don´t think so!!

Another The Wonder Of You???? That would be fantastic!!!!! Specially being described as a blues version!

Time will tell us!

Sat Dec 24, 2005 7:22 pm

Ted Turner is obviously not an Elvis fan. :(

Hi Christian fantastic information !

Enjoyed reading your post and the montage of photos with details....good job!

From your list of shows I guess now we are able to confirm
these pictures were taken during the Aug 13th M/S.

Image

Would everyone agree?

An if this would be the case maybe this is the show
where Elvis sits down and sings
"Baby What Do You Want me To Do?"

What seems odd, but sounds very cool mentioned in the article,
is it sounds like Elvis is still sitting on his stool with Electric Guitar in hand while singing "Polk Salad"....doesn't sound right...

But wow that would be very cool to see if that was the case..

All in all good Job Christian!

Thanks Christian...and so do you sir.

I have been re-reading and re-reading this article
and I noticed another intereting tid-bit......

It suggests in the article during the August 12th M/S
when Elvis is asked to play "The Wonder Of You"
where he inreturn asks the Band is "The Wonder of You"
on the charts....
It suggests in the article Elvis does end up singing the song.

Can we then assume after Elvis comes back from
the audience walk he must have gone into the song
1st and then Heartbreak Hotel....???

What do you think Christian or anybody?

I wonder why RCA did not have the song and was
Ernst aware of the song missing when he did the FTD
disc.

Without the answer from those questioned we can never know PEP.

But, please consider that the audience walk and background waffle music was not on the CD from the 3CD set, so it is possible that the next song was left off as well.

I did ask Ernst if all the show was mastered "en masse" as i wondered if the audience walk music had been included in the digital remastering (although left off the CD) coz there's loads of angles to synch and it would have been good if the sound was known to have been improvable from the out takes DVD's

Sat Dec 24, 2005 10:26 pm

That s two others photos from the show

Sat Dec 24, 2005 10:50 pm

For the good observators
and to others who can claim it s same show when two chains are open
we can see at this show Elvis wore a ring to the last finger of right hand
Image

and no ring to this show

Hi Christian,

I was delighted to see the photo of the Chain suit you posted above, because that reminded me of a photo I had seen earlier.

Image

This fake photo and information is from Sean Shaver. Obviously, this is the same Chain suit photo you posted. So there really is not a Double Y Suit. We have been fooled, once again.

Sun Dec 25, 2005 1:22 am

Sean Shaver
has take some greats photos and super 8 but he his also an expert in fake photos Elvis withe him and fake jumpsuits

I agree with you Christian, Shaver has done this a few times in the past...

Here's one example:

Image

Christian are you suggesting the Y suit is faked then?

Opps didn't notice you posted the picture above before posting...
