August 16, 1977, the day that you died
the day that you left this earth and this whole world cried
no more Elvis in this world, only MEMORIES
but you left us all behind a great legacy
you sang blue suede shoes, hound dog, jailhouse rock, way down
suspicious minds, burning love, stranger in my own home town
you sang rhythm and blues and gospel, loved God with all your might
you loved your dearest mama, and cried for her at night
you went back with your mama, and met God too
one thing we all have to say is ELVIS, I MISS YOU
from a 15 year old Elvis fan, Scott Haigh, on behalf of the Elvis fans of the world

All of the above in some way, I hope.
To tie in to that very day, I like to dig up these two albums,
which I associate with that time in my family:
My wife will think it's just
another Tuesday.![]()

(I try to pace how much Elvis "programming" is watched,
lest she turn from liking Elvis to being sick of him. The Larry King
show last week went over like a lead balloon...)
I think I'll play one of the '68 stand-up shows
(we're slowing re-watching that set) ,
plus some of ALOHA. Ever play even some of those
multiple takes like the gospel segment from '68
for a casual fan? Drives 'em up the wall, and I can't
blame them.
I encourage you all to run wild in Jordan's Elvis Library as well,
plus some of Keith Flynn's site as well.

I would also love to be in Memphis today, next year for sure.

That sounds great...can this show be downloaded?
reason I'm asking is, every time I click on the link, it says it's not available!?![]()
maybe too much traffic?
I'll try again later..
