On-line Museum BAD NAUHEIM - much Elvis

Interested in the book Elvis in Bad Nauheim by Heli von Westrem

This is Heli than:

This is Heli in 2014:

With this beautiful picture on the cover:
Elvis In Bad Nauheim.jpg
Elvis im Lido in Paris mit seinen Lieben, Foto: Sammlung Heli von Westrem (Heli Priemel), zweiter neben Elvis: Karatelehrer Jürgen Seydel

I went and searched the internet for more info about Heli and this picture. I stumbled upon a German crowdfunding site:

http://www.crowdfunding-bad-nauheim.de/online-shop/bücher/

Where was stated that the book "Elvis in Bad Nauheim" is an auto-biography written by Heli von Western and her experiences with Elvis in Bad Nauheim. According to someone quoted (Currie Grant) Elvis said: "The only girl, I ever loved, was Heli“.

She now works on Volume 2 of the book.

On this crowdfunding site, some nice pictures are to be found.

Via this site I found the On-line Museum Bad-Nauheim, where you can find many more nice pictures and stories (when using google translate if you don't speak German).

Quite a mix of army-era photos, thanks for the share.

It's a little odd that Heli von Westrem uses a 1960 photo from Paris as the cover photo for her book "Elvis in Bad Nauheim" -- maybe she didn't have anything better. Here's who I believe we see there:

600100_w Esposito_von Westrem_Fike_Seydel_Gleaves_Paris.jpg
Joe Esposito, Heli von Westrem, unknown, Lamar Fike, Elvis, unknown, Jürgen Seydel, and Cliff Gleaves at Le Lido, Paris - January 1960

It was during this final army furlough that Elvis attended several classes with Tetsuji Murakami, a Japanese master of of Shotokan karate.

600100_w Tetsuji Murakami_Paris.jpg
Finally, here's a small article on Jürgen Seydel in the German tabloid Bild, about a month after Elvis returned to the U.S.:

600320_Bild_Seydel article.jpg

It's too bad Elvis never returned to the spa town of Bad Nauheim, or the City of Light, for a concert tour. He had a heap of fun in 1959-1960.

Thanks! Even more info about Elvis and Karate in Paris is to be found following the link I provided in my OP:

http://www.crowdfunding-bad-nauheim.de/online-museum/elvis-karate/

Including this nice action shot from Seydel:

I think the reason Heli von Westrem used the Paris photo for her book cover on Elvis in Bad Nauheim is that it's probably the only photo where she is on together with Elvis. I couldn't find any other photo with her and Elvis on the same picture.

Meanwhile I found a nice video on YouTube that fits this topic exactly. A tour through the places Elvis went in Bad Nauheim etc. Nice to watch. The video was posted on YT in July 2008 already, by Andrei Politoukhin:

Elvis Presley's unknown years in Germany
..

And of the museum in Bad-Nauheim, posted in 2011:

Elvis Presley Museum Ausstellung Bad Nauheim
..
