"It's Me Baby" - 1997 Malcolm Yelvington Documentary

Mon Sep 30, 2013 8:27 pm

A nice 10-minute documentary on Sun artist Malcolm Yelvington, made in 1997 by Devin Miller.

Yelvington saw two single releases on Sun, in 1955 and 1956. The first one, Sun 211, was issued immediately after Elvis' first two singles. In between, he also recorded a single for rival Memphis label, Meteor Records, under the pseudonym "Mac Sales" :

Excellent! A Documentry on Malcolm Yelvington is quite amazing...i've got his B. Family CD "The Sun Years, Plus". Another one of Sun's unknown legends.

Thanks. I couldn't believe my eyes when I found this...

Yelvington cut some cool sides for Sun and Meteor. "Goodbye Marie" is one of my favorites, as he's backed by Roland Janes and Jimmy Van Eaton. A fantastic track. I recently posted it in the Roland Janes thread :
