Before my time too. My mother saw the Beatles in 1962 at the Lewisham Theatre in south London, just after "Love Me Do" was released. She even spoke to John, but remember what it was about.

The Beatles did not play Lewisham in 1962, but did so twice in 1963:

29 March 1963: Live: Odeon Cinema, Lewisham | The Beatles Bible
http://www.beatlesbible.com/1963/03/29/live-odeon-cinema-lewisham
The group's setlist for this tour contained six songs: Love Me Do, Misery, A Taste Of Honey, Do You Want To Know A Secret, Please Please Me and I Saw Her Standing There.

8 December 1963: Live: Odeon Cinema, Lewisham | The Beatles Bible
http://www.beatlesbible.com/1963/12/08/live-odeon-cinema-lewisham-2
They performed a 10-song set: I Saw Her Standing There, From Me To You, All My Loving, You Really Got A Hold On Me, Roll Over Beethoven, Boys, Till There Was You, She Loves You, Money (That's What I Want) and Twist And Shout.

Which one do you reckon she saw?

I was not at the Beatles show in Manila 1966 but I would like to share some infos I heard from older folks and from newspaper accounts.

This was the set list:
The Beatles' set list during the Manila concert were as follows:

1.Rock And Roll Music
2.She's A Woman
3.If I Needed Someone
4.Baby's In Black
5.Day Tripper
6.I Feel Fine
7.Yesterday
8 I Wanna Be Your Man
9.Paperback Writer
10.I'm Down

ENCORE: Long Tall Sally

The Beatles have landed in Manila.

The Beatles visit to Manila was one of the most infamous incidents in rock era.
The Beatles were invited by then first lady Imelda Marcos for a dinner party at the presidential palace, but Brian Epstein declined without informing the Beatles.
To "get back" at the Beatles, they were not given police escorts to the airport on their way home. At the airport Ringo was floored by an uppercut (No, Pacquiao was not around then) and John Lennon was kicked in the back by Marcos supporters.
The Beatles incident gave Philippines a black eye.

In the aftermath, NEMS, Epstein's company, cancelled two shows of Freddie and The Dreamers, another show of Cilla Black was also cancelled.
Even Rolling Stones manager Andrew Oldham cancelled their upcoming show after learning of the Beatles' nightmarish experince in Manila.

My mothers not got the best memory in the world. I've asked her she says it was at beginning of the year, so it would have to be 29 March 1963. Asked her what songs they did she only remembers "Love Me Do". She also says that she didn't really know too much about them at the time. It was her friend Linda who had two tickets for the show and asked my mother if she'd like to come along.

Thanks for posting the info, Doc.

You're welcome. Maybe your mom and her friend Linda were more interested in the other acts on the bill that day, Chris Montez and Tommy Roe.

There's a small tribute to Ringo's photography hobby in the new Rolling Stone.

So, Javi almost got the thrill that'll gitcha! (When you get your picha . . .)

Awesome! Ringo!

"Good Evening Sir and thank you for coming to Argentina. I've waited 25 years for this moment. Did Gregg (Bissonette) give you the custom made Argentinean soccer team Jersey I sent for you?"
"Yes, I put it in a box somewhere"

I didn't have that much time, but I was going to tell him that I crossed the fence just like Paul did this year!
Ringo is a nice lad and Todd Rundgren is amazing!

Too bad you didn't have your photos with you, as you stomped all over that old guy as far as fence-crossing!!

I know! But we had more important matters to discuss.
When are you posting your picture with Paul? I'm dying to see it.

The more important question is ... have you ever taken a photograph that did not have you in it?

:D

I took around 3 hundred from the front row at Ringo's concert last weekend, but I don't want to bore you with them!

No, please bore us with a few hundred more photos of you. I hope we won't have to twist your arm. :D

It is evident that no one 'round here likes them more than you. ;-)

The fact that you're afraid to show your pretty face to the world and made quite a fuss when your pic made the rounds show what an insecure person you are but that's ok.
In the words of Jon Bon Jovi:

"Remember that you're perfect, God makes no mistakes"
