Tupelo Mississippi View

Some nice and interesting articles in this 1977 magazine. It is too big for my scanner, so I have to post the articles in several parts. I will post more articles from this magazine later.

So Forest Bobo "had supper" with Elvis on Monday, July 5, 1954?

Thank you The fool! These are really priceless.
Any. Day. Of. The. Week I'd rather read first hand account stories about Elvis from the people that were there in the beginning and early years, verses so many other historical writings that oftentimes leave out priceless nuggets. Like them building apple carts to race down the hill near his birthplace, or the lard can turned into a makeshift guitar.

Really special reading here, thank you again!

I'm with the Doc John C. on the question about Forest Bobo. I'm will familiar with his association to the Presley story in the Tupelo years. But him being involved with the family enough to have dinner with them around the time Elvis first started recording has thrown me for a little loop. I'd be interested in reading a little more details about that if there is any truth to this story at all. Unless Mr Bobo is thinking of some other audition. As we know Elvis walked into Sun Records a number of times before his official July 1954 audition. Perhaps Mr Bobo is confusing another evening.
