Thank you, The Fool (why the name?). A good, balanced, article from yesteryear.

I always enjoy reading Elvis' quotes too, he was always so humble, such a wonderful trait.

The fool, Thanks a lot for this unique posting . Still to this day, many people think Elvis was racist!

Here's an interesting article by Peter Guralnick on this subject.

There are still going to be black folks that refuse to believe such crap and continue calling him Cracker white boy who ripped off their music. So sick of all these other boards that lean on that same ole crutch. Get over it...Elvis never said it.

A lot of white people believe it, too. They've heard it, and "know" it. More evidence, for certain people, that he was just a "simple and plain" hick.

You can't completely kill a lie like this. It's one of those "big lies." One of history's leading sociopaths was right about that.

I think if fans set a good example, maybe that'll help. But I don't know.

Elvis looks so stricken in that interview photo. So deeply hurt. And helpless.

All of your uploads have a historical importance, but this one may be the most important one you have ever posted on FECC.

It is fascinating, honest reading, and you know for a fact that Elvis read a copy of this issue.

Thank you so kindly, and I tip my cap to you, sir!

Appreciated, but I realize the praise was actually for The Fool, who landed the Holy Grail here!

I'm on the run today, and a little confused. All hail The Fool!

I must admit, I don't see this in the photo.

What seems most evident is an earnest desire to set the record straight: Elvis didn't have a problem with someone because of the color of their skin.

If only everyone felt the same.

Oh, I agree with the latter, certainly. But if I zoom into his face, that's what I see. I would be very upset if it were me who had been accused of this. . It's hard to imagine.

Thank you so much for this magazine, great article. I like the end: "To Elvis, people are people, regardless of race, color or creed."

It's not just some "black folks" who feel Elvis was a racist. Deceased and discredited Presley biographer Albert Goldman implies as much in his 1981 biography, and many other people of various background and upbringing believe the same.

Great articles. Thanks a lot. Regarding Goldman: he is now a forgotten writer and Elvis survived to his trash books.
