The moon landing?

Matthew, when it comes' to Elvis fans'.
What's going to be more important??
Moon Landing or Elvis Landing for the first time on a
Satellite TV Program beamed around the world
with Elvis looking like a God???

Most Elvis Fans' are going to go with the
Satellite program.

Don't ya think?

I know I would !

So, I'm only guessing that's why its' worded
the way it is.

Anyway, this looks' like another WINNER from Boxcar!

This is going to be another Quality book which should
be a must for most Elvis Fans' !

Totaly "ESSENTIAL" ! (In my opinion.)

The Ultimate Elvis Aloha Book !

"Boxcar did a Awesome job on the video too !

If there was an Award that could be handed
out for bringing back excitement to the Elvis World
or for Best Elvis Trailor
"Boxcar" would be One of the Top Nominees
if not THE Winner hands' down!

Great stuff !

Matthew give it a rest.

I'm obviously a huge supporter
As the main man behind this project
is getting US Elvis fans' what we want and
expect.

When a small independent company
is "Promoting Elvis" in the Positive Fashion
like this and does a
"Quality Job"
and gives the Elvis fan their monies worth.

They should be supporter !

As there is much more exciting stuff to come!
(You Can Be Sure of that !)

"Boxcar" is on their 3rd time out of the gate
With a cool Elvis Aloha project that gets' it right.
Image

All Elvis Projects' they have done so far, have been
Top Notch and they have provided everything
a Elvis Fan would expect for their money.

If you cannot see that, I would suggest getting your chip off your shoulder first
and look at the big picture.

I say this because I am aware of the history you have displayed in the past,
which appears' to be more on a personal level than a performace level.

Need I say more?

The moon landing was a milestone groundbreaking achievement by all mankind. While the Aloha concert was a groundbreaking event by one individual that made way for international television programming today. It's quite possible that without that historical milestone in 1973 that we would not have live television being seen simultaneously worldwide today. Since Aloha aired, the Super Bowl, Presidential debates, funerals, the Olympics among other world events have been broadcasted live and not videotaped. Give Elvis his rightful dues.

It would be interesting if someone could figure out how many people really saw the show.

I don't think we will ever know the exact number. But if I were to guess, I would say anywhere between 500 million to 1 billion. Even though it went out to 1.5 billion potential viewers. But some of that was in tape delay. The majority of the live viewing audience was mostly by Asia, Korea, Phillippines and Australia.

Why didn't you ask the same when I was promoting
"Boy From Tupelo"( as a example)
Nevertheless, I'm not sure my answer is going to solve anything for you anyway,
thus the reason for suggesting to you to "Give It Rest"

Time to move forward Matthew.

I don't recall. Where you supplied a free copy of Tupelo? Are you being furnished with a copy of this new release? It's not a hard question and fair enough actually.

Well, anyway - even though PEP has prejudged my position from a single question I will say that the book looks very nice on the face of it, for the subject matter covered. The trailer, with it's 70s Superman: The Movie homage is quite fun and nicely put together. Hopefully for those Super Aloha fans who will be getting this, the essay will be an honest and truthful reflection of the event.

Oh, and I am NOT being supplied a free copy. Isn't hard to say, right?

Wikipedia wrote: For many years, biographers and fan sites, including the official website of Elvis Presley, have claimed that up to 1.5 billion people watched the broadcast live. This claim has been questioned by other sources who point out that, as the broadcast was only seen in around 40 countries, it would have been near impossible for that figure to have been achieved.[11][11] Alan Hanson, writing for "Elvis History Blog", states that "the world’s total population in 1973 was 3.973 billion. Does it sound reasonable that fully one-third of the planet’s people were glued to the tube when Elvis’s special aired in 1973? Hardly."[11] He also makes the claim that the American figures were only "33.8 percent of households", approximately 70 million, and that many of the other countries watching were much less populated; "If barely a third of the U.S. population tuned in, does it seem reasonable that an equal amount would have done so in places like South Vietnam, where TV broadcasting only began in 1965?".[11] To further debunk the claims of 1 to 1.5 billion views, Hanson states;

So how was the exaggerated number of 1.3 billion viewers of the Elvis special reached? If you add together the 1973 populations of the 38 countries that actually did broadcast the Aloha show, the total comes to—you guessed it—about 1.3 billion. In what was perhaps the greatest snow job of his career, Colonel Parker convinced four decades of Elvis experts and fans that every single living person in 38 countries tuned in to Elvis: Aloha From Hawaii in 1973.[11]

Band Aid was aired live to 150 nations in the 80s, reaching out to 1.9 billion people. Aloha was aired live to only 40 nations reaching 1.5 billion people in 1973? My personal view is that I agree with the critics here that the 1.5 billion figure is another stunt by the Colonel but that it comes nowhere near reality. But even when it is much less (I would even question if Elvis reached the mark of half a billion viewers) , for me it does not hurt Aloha from Hawaii as a great, ground breaking event. It still is a milestone concert.

I've been offered the book for €96 (incl. shipping). Had to decline though as it's out of my budget. Anyway, in my case that's still €19 less than the latest volume in the "Elvis Files" series (which would cost me €115). Wish I had money to buy one, being able to buy both of them would be a (little) dream come true... Why are these books so expensive?

Price is same as Graceland book, but price is really dependant in where you go. And if you can pick it up rather than have it posted as that will save £10.00 straight away.

Small market so very limited print run, high production costs and expensive shipment. I have been through collecting books almost a decade ago. For the price of a book nowadays one can buy 4 FTDs or up to several stonemint copies of first pressings of Elvis' lifetime vinyl albums. Saving on buying 4 or 5 books will you provide with enough budget to buy a nice copy of a Sun single. So my priorities are not with expensive books!

The promotional video is very slick, but tells us very little about the book.

Of the 1 min 56 seconds, the first 45 seconds and last 15 seconds are intro and 'outro' respectively.
