New Agnetha Faltskog single

Tue Mar 12, 2013 2:35 am

The first single issued [today] from the Swedish pop icon's new album "A" [see cover below], due to be released this coming May.
Agnetha's first of entirely original material since 1987.

For a woman of nearly 63 years of age, she looks absolutely stunning. Moreover, it is a delight to hear once again, her distinctively luscious vocals... which sound as great as ever.

True legend.

smt170 I was hoping she would do a cover of In Dreams. It certainly would have suited her than this one.

Thanks for posting!

It's great what computer technology and photoshop can do today...

Otherwise it's nice to hear some new stuff from Agnetha but I'm not really convinced that this will be a huge success.
Gotta admit the more I listen to it the more I'm starting to like it although I think it sounds like everything else that comes out of the radio these days.

Great, just wrote down the lyrics just to find out someone on the internet was quicker than me... anyway, here they are:

"Soul searchin'
Heartbroken
Eyes open
Some say
You’re only cryin' in the dark

Life changes, rearranges
Time passes
Some say
You’re only cryin' in the dark

He promised you his love would last forever
The day he said goodbye
All you wanted
Was to lay down and die

When you loved someone
Really loved someone
And you lost that one
Well, then nothing really matters
No forgiveness, no politeness
No one else could take his place
No one, no one
Oh-ooh

Come together, honey
Let him go now, honey
Save your heart
They say
No more cryin' in the dark

Gotta break loose, have some fun
Let yourself go
Come undone
I know your friends mean well, but
Ooh

When you loved someone
Really loved someone
And you lost that one
Well, then nothing really matters
No forgiveness, no politeness
No one else could take his place
No one, no one
When you really loved someone

Loved someone
You’ll never be the same

Hmm…
When you loved someone
Really loved someone
And you lost that one
Well, then nothing really matters
No forgiveness, no politeness
No one else could take his place
No one, no one
No one
When you really loved someone."

I'm not sure if the lyrics are 100% correct, it seems like she sings "when you love someone, really love someone" in the first place and only at the ending uses the past with "loved"... confirmation please?

I guess she didn't get your email from a while back, Rob.

As noted, "A" is a brand new album [Agnetha's first since "I Stand Alone" way back in 1987], so including covers was never part of the plan.
Interestingly, the closing track "I Keep Them On the Floor Beside My Bed" is an Agnetha co-write [her first in 30 years!], plus there is a duet with Gary Barlow [Take That] on the track "I Should've Followed You Home."

I'm personally looking forward to it.

What are you talking about?

BTW, a different single was issued solely for the German market. You can hear a snippet below.

Okay, then let's call it "make-up"... :D

Thanks for the link to the snippet. Hasn't "When You Really Loved Someone" been written all by herself?

I played it to a friend of mine who's a huge ABBA-Fan and she didn't like it and even confirmed what I previously wrote.

Coincidentially I listened to "There's Something Goin' On" by Frida on my mp3-player today... now THAT was a great song! :)

Find a link below to a recent interview Agnetha gave to publicize the new album.
As always, she comes across as one very classy and humble lady.

P.S. She's apparently coming to the U.K. in May on a promotional trip. After decades out of the spotlight, this is both incredible and tremendous news for fans!

No offensive taken, but: check out her different looks in the video and during the interview. She still looks great for her age though. And I'm glad she refuses to get nip/tucked.

Really, really classy! Thanks for posting!

She´s still a stunning lady., I tell you for sure and her voice is still intact. Nowadays she almost looks a bit like Kim Wilde.

Agnetha makes her first appearance on British TV in 26 years tomorrow [Thursday 7:00pm], when appearing on the BBC's "The One Show."

Great dance track with an irresistible hook.

Definite echoes of "Voulez-Vous" period ABBA on this one.

Are you aware that there are sites on the Internet where you can see actual nipples, untroubled by items of clothing?

This is one of the saddest posts I've read in a long time.

Yip. Me too. Considering I'm going through a divorce right now, this answer seems very unappropriate to me.

By the way, it's too far away from me and I don't have the money. :D
