Indeed...looks very much like a PA system with lights.

Awesome really gives that atomosphere feeling to it.
My how I wish these shows were on soundboard talk about excitement that would be waiting on it to arrive.

Must have been a weird place to play for Elvis and the band with the empty arena around them...

Didn't I read somewhere it took the audience respons about 4 seconds to reach the people on stage..?

I do not, for the life of me, recall having seen these photos in this quality and color before... the b&w ones were new to me. You can clearly see the low attendance of this first matinee...

Man, these are just great.

We ain´t got many photos from this show so they are most welcome.

That's an interesting comment... what's the explanation for the attendance being below 20,000 for the opening show while the other shows are in around 40,000???

Perhaps it was the disconnect between the rodeo crowd and the rock crowd.

Other than that, I don't know. It seems to have scared Elvis, until they all showed up.

I love that audience recording on YouTube; really, really rocks!
