Bro you're not clairvoyant are you?
It is very rare for me to break a
guitar string - but today I broke
one. And it was the G string!

I really can't comment on my old
G-Strings.

I'm glad the season is over for my Miami Dolphins.
I'm looking forward to the draft.

Superbowl...
Green Bay Packers
VS.
Denver Broncos

Peyton Manning wins Super Bowl MVP
and gets his second ring.

Anyone see Jack White on Austin City Limits?
I hope they'll release it on Blu ray. Great show.

I would love to see your prediction come true iplayastrat.

But...I fear it will be the New England Patriots vs. Green Bay Packers.

Patriots 38 Packers 35

Should be a great game though.

If the Broncos can't get there,
I wouldn't mind seeing the Patriots.

Um...never mind.

Now I hope it's the

New England Patriots
VS.
Atlanta Falcons

If that's the case I'll be pulling
for the Falcons. Though I wouldn't
mind Tomboy having another ring.

The Epiphone Sheraton II got the treatment last night.

It was time (past time) for a string change, but first
things first. Took the old strings off so I could use my
new set of Stewart MacDonald Fret Erasers. They do
a good job and they're not as messy as steel wool. I
imagine they're safer for your fretboard too. Cleaned
and oiled (lemon). Topped of the frets with some kind
of magic polishing cloth. Now they're shinny and smooth
as butter. Better than new actually.

Lowered the action a bit. I could give you the specs,
but who's reading this??? The strings if you must know
are Gibson Vintage Reissue 10 to 46. I left the relief
as it is since it's plays so sweet. I might tinker with
the pickup height, but she sure sounds good where
she is.

The Epiphone Sheraton II - one great guitar.

Argo and Jimmy Carter

I liked the movie, but that voice over by President Carter
at the end - what that heck?

Is he off his med's? Affleck after showing the Carter Administration's
political ineptness, gives Carter a chance to make us believe that he
brought the remaining hostages home. All in the most peaceful way,
without even the threat of war or some unnamed mission, lets call it
"Desert One". Which ended like most things he would do during his
administration - a big failure.

Thanking Ronald Reagan might have been in order since he allowed
Carter to go and greet the hostages in Germany. The Iranians feared
what might happen under President Reagan, and rightfully so.

Ah, the Carter years. The giveaways, standing in line for gasoline,
inflation and allowing the Shah Of Iran to come to America. As our
former Vice President Walter Mondale said "let him in". What a
great bunch of leaders.

But there is a difference between Carter and President Obama,
they actually knew how to keep secrets. It took about sixteen
years before the mission was declassified and then years later
for a movie to be made. Obama wouldn't wait until the terrorists
blood had coagulated for approval of a movie script.

On the other hand, President Obama will take a chance and make
a hard decision for good or bad. While Carter sat on his thumbs.
Did he pull out a plum? I really don't know. Ask Affleck.

Aw, don't go there . . . more than any other, he's "my President."

I have charts, graphs, articles . . .

Noooooooo.

Just sayin'.

(My parents met Jimmy and Miss Lillian, Jimmy's outspoken mother, and they were such wonderful people.
But I have the materials, as well.)

Oops.

That's cool about meeting him, any President really.

I was proud at first when he became President (being a Southerner)
but that quickly changed.

NO politics, but Miss Lillian was awesome! Great anecdote.

She held court on a porch, and waved my folks over. They started chatting. She asked my mom a question, which my dad promptly answered.
Oops, indeed. "Was I talking to you?" she shot back at my dad. "I asked HER. She can speak for herself!"

This was never forgotten, as you can imagine. Actually, they were both impressed.

Thought the DTS soundtrack was good. Never had noticed how much over-
dubbing was used before. Still a good Rock film though.

On the second disc they featured a news clip from Tampa Florida (1976?)
telling how Zep had broken the Beatles single concert attendance record.
The Beatles' record was 55,000 and Zeppelin's topped 56,000.

Which leads me to this question. Didn't Elvis appearance at the Pontiac Silverdome
draw near 60,000 (1976?). If so Elvis would have had the record at that time.

Elvis apparently played to 60500 people at the Silverdome - so, technically, that would top Zep's record but with the upper level seats being marked "sold out" (to give the audience a better view of Elvis) I don't know if that would count. The potential (if not for Parker marking those upper seats "sold out" was there for him to play to nearly 90,000 people.

You should share here. Easy to vent or just be silly.
It usually dies a quick death in this thread.

And yes...kidney stones are bad. But thank the Lord
this time wasn't as bad as times past.

Note to self, drink plenty of water.
