Of course with the start of ebay Elvis collectibles prices went down, but when we talk about real collectibles Elvis is still on the very top . What do you think?. Did US discs come from the factory with the wide spindle hole....or was it a push out device.

Yes, they came with a wide spindle hole. So, there are all kinds of scenarios where this could be unplayed. Warehouses, attics, collectors, etc.

Make no mistake. There is still definitely a market for good, vintage, collectible Elvis stuff. On any given day ebay has tons of great Elvis items.

If one can be sure that these are authentic items, and not repros. One can never be 100% sure when not viewing the item in question in person.

There are collectors out there that bought 2copies of each and kept one sealed. The only sealed record I have is EPA 4108 Elvis' christmas EP. at one point was going to collect All the EPs sealed unfortunately life gets in the way. I was even dumb enough to return a compact 33 single with sleeve .... traded it for the more convient 45.All the way back to the record shop i kept saying to myself 'This is going to be collectable some day'. But just couldn't bring myself to keep it. I was making a statement .... NOT allowing RCA to force a new standard on us. And apparently so were Tens of thousands of other fans feeling the same. Slso couldn't stand having it in my house.

I don't see much sales declining within the last 10 years, other than what has been hit by the bad economy, especially during the Bush administration.

Nice exceptions, wish I had that money to spend on collecting. On the other hand most items that did USD 100 to 500 (like a nice copy of LOC 1035) in the 80s nowadays can be bought well beneath USD 100,-. That's the other truth. Matthew has said it terrificly in another thread: internet helped unmask the true value of thing and I am personally happy that quite some nice collectibles came within my reach/ budget.

Jeez...here we go.The argument at hand here refers to the economy but here's a newsflash for you anyway: Obama's not taking anybody's guns away. Please point out one time, JUST ONCE where Obama said that he's working on legislation to totally take your guns away. Go ahead. People like to think that he's going to because to put it plainly, among other 'reasons' THEY JUST DON'T LIKE HIM. If you pay attention to the gun issue you'll see that there's a problem that needs fixing, and maybe if you pay closer attention you'll see that no one is TAKING YOUR GUNS AWAY. Got it? So right! Before the Internet, the chances of finding certain records were minimal, specially in Europe. You saw bad copies of elvis is back monaural for 300 dollars. I bought 2 very good copies (living stereo and long play) for less than $130 together . And the price of certain records from the 70's are very low. I even have very good extra copies of clambake and harum with the bonus pictures dying on my shelf

Two amazing LPs in Mint shape ! those 2 are so hard to find....Speedway sold for over $ 5000 there are some lucky rich collectors somewhere...

The method in collecting memorabilia is changing everyday. Although generation gaps have always existed it’s the activities and interests of today's generation raised more on today's technology has caused the change more than anything else imo.

I know a lot of people having no interest in having any type of print items (books, photos, magazines) anymore. I was visiting my friend this past weekend, and his new neighbors have tablets hanging in rooms showing family photos, paintings etc. and they removed all bookshelves... not one book in the entire house. When I mentioned delivering newspapers when I was young, they just laugh.

Sad but true. There are young people who have never bought a newspaper and never will. People now have their books on pads, Bookstores are closing up, cd stores are mostly gone and magazines will soon be passe. We live in a download electronic age. What this means for Elvis music after we are all gone, I have no idea.
