2 new ftd books

Hi - that was early version, as you can appreciate, contents, art work and layout are constantly being updated.

Thanks for underscoring what I have been trying to convey to the confused members of FECC.

I'm getting "Summer of '61" for sure. The HMV book doesn't really do it for me. Now, if they had replicated the 45s and made it a boxed set of 45s with the book, then Bingo! That old hunk of plastic would be screaming for mercy!

Is there anyone here buying the HMV book, and have the other one already available, as it would be good to get an overview for both. Once it’s out that is.

Following the success of WELCOME HOME ELVIS and FROM MEMPHIS TO HOLLYWOOD, Flaming Star productions will release SUMMER OF ’61 in April of this year. The focus is on the summer months of 1961, with the main focus on the making of the movie FOLLOW THAT DREAM filmed on location in Florida in the months July and August 1961.
The book presents original newspaper articles, new exclusive interviews from the cast, the crew, and local residents, and also details about scenes deleted from the final print. The book includes over 200 stunning unpublished photos taken from the original negatives + a CD (detail about the accompanying disc will be provided as soon as possible).

One small thing, wouldn't "THE CD" make more sense in light of "THE BOOK"?

You have not done anything here to explain the reason for the DVD announcement on the back cover and why it’s changed, you are far too busy with this being a mock cover, there is no one disputing that, the question asked is why the u turn on contents, and yes things change all the time, again no one disputes that, but when its posted by mistake or not, it would be nice to know why the DVD will no longer be included.


But again the information is there if you talk to the right people, and thankfully Doc/Matt you are neither.

And yes Doc/Matt I am still on holiday/banned for a couple days yet??
You keep taking your meds, also here in UK you can now legally marry so feel free Doc & Matthew come on over for a holiday and tie the knot.

It's probably not the only thing that's small.

Fact: the image is a mock-up. Yes it is now because the DVD details will have to be wiped out and this could mean a complete redesign and not just an alteration.
Fact: there has never been any official announcement of a DVD. Not in the written annoncement but there was on the rear cover art which you continuously failed to see. Otherwise we could have been seeing a Mis-representation of product here.

It's disappointing news about the DVD but thanks for posting the updated image of the front cover for the book. The only difference I can spot from the previous front cover art is that Ernst Jørgensen name has now been removed from the spine. Does that mean that Ernst has now distance himself from this project or had no involvement at all except for sanctioning this as an FTD release. Also can't wait to see the rear cover art and the CD contents.

No official notification from FTD – bla blab bla, we know that FTD are more of a distributor for these two books, all though the ’61 book is in keeping with all other FTD books.
from David English (no DVD with the book) no reason for it being on the “MOCK UP BACK Cover” then after a while the reason is getting appropriate permissions to us the film footage?

All good and well we are getting to the answer of what was asked, as the idea was there to have a DVD with the release!

can you set the record straight regarding this was a DVD planed, and if so why was it changed?

So we have conflicting answers as to the footage.

So what is the truth to this Mr English’s eventual notification or Ernst’s answer, if it’s Ernst and the material wasn’t good enough, does that mean it’s just that grainy footage from Follow That Dream of Elvis with fans that we have already?

So Mr Doc before you start your campaign of SPIN, this is the question asked and the question answered by both in the know.

So it is info regarding the non use of the DVD: not the fact it was not officially announced, just why the change of mind, and if some one hadn’t released that info on a picture of a mock up or statement via FTD or other source the question would not be asked.

Thank you Ernst for your reply and also David for your PM’s on this subject. And not forgetting a special thank you to the Doc for twisting everything around to make out, well I am lost as to his posts on this subject.


As you can see Ernst never gave any info on the next FTD, but I have heard of a couple that are planned none of which mentioned before I don’t think, apart from possibly “Elvis’ 2nd Album” to which a couple of interesting alternate takes may appear, which sounded nice, but I can’t say at this time, only because its not my place to.
Another CD possible for release is a kind of tie-up release on certain things that can’t fill a full CD again a good idea and hope that comes to be released at some point.
