Thank you & Yes... it was the Original/first version, I like it much better than the more common played one myself.

Do you know what LP it was from?

Nicely done. Even though it was written years before, and not necessarily by one member, I've long heard it as so unusual, as though he "knew." It seems so personal.

Thanks!

What I always found strange was the last LP was called "Street Survivors" since it was being in the air is what killed him. And the original cover art was changed right after the crash because it had the band standing on the cover in flames.

This cd here has the 'Original' version of Free Bird on it. Song #1... Ronnie was known to have told many people that he would die before he was 30.. & he died at 29..I think he did know.. I read that when they were getting on the plane that day, there were concerns about the plane not working right, & Ronnie said: "If it's your time to go,, it's your time to go"

Ronnie always dedicated "Free Bird' to Duane Allman & Berry Oakley from the Allman Brothers :

I Really Love the emotions and feeling he puts into this song at 4:21
Very Touching!!!!

Nice find Elvis Lady. Would be very interesting to know what would've happend if Elvis was home. I bet it would be a much cooler meeting than years ago when the Beatles and Elvis met.
I wonder what song they would "jam out"
Very nice of Elvis to send flowers to congratulate Lynyrd Skynyrd with their succes.
I think their was a mutal respect.
