Stan's last at-bat

As a Cardinal fan I'm curious to see how the team will honor "The Man" for the 2013 season.

St. Louis has been in mourning ever since word of his passing was announced. The mood here is one of fond remembrance for all of the great memories he gave us and joyful celebration of a life well-lived!

Stan's lovely wife, Lillian, passed away at age 91, on May 3, 2012; their marriage had lasted for almost 72 years. It is nice to think that they are together again.

Also, thank you for posting the YouTube clip of Harry Caray's call of Stan's last game (1963). I was at that game in the left-field bleachers.

I wasn't aware of Lillian's passing in May. No doubt that Stan was heartbroken about it.

I've always wished (like thousands of other Cardinal fans) that Stan had played just one more year
so he could've been a part of the 1964 World Champion St. Louis Cardinals! It wasn't meant to be.

No, Blue River, wasn't there for the memorial but was able to catch most of the proceedings live on local TV.
