What is Elvis singing?

Mon Jan 21, 2013 1:41 am

Ok, lip readers here is a challenge.

I can't make it out, but there are some clues.

In "this is Elvis" when they had the birthday party for Jan Shepard, in 1958, we see Elvis on piano, but his back is towards us, but
there is about a 2 second clip of Elvis playing guitar facing us.

You can tell it is a ballad.
It appears he is chording "D"
He sings one line.

I have tried to match it up to the other home recordings we have from the period but I have not been able to solve this.

Anyone know.

I don't know, ekenee, but I'm pretty sure about the song he was singing at the time the photo was taken for the Raised On Rock album cover. :smt034

Jan noted that Elvis played "Danny Boy" all the time on the "King Creole" set and at her surprise birthday party.

Yes, I tried that one, but it didn't seem to match.
Since its only one line this could be difficult.
I even suspected, Crying in the chapel, but I don't think so.
