Steve Jones + Paul Cook = The Professionals, not the Pistols.

Did you not know that Cook and Jones were in The Sex Pistols before they formed The Professionals and therefore that is what they are more known for, always will be.

You miss the point. Aesthetically, without Johnny Rotten they cannot be the Sex Pistols.

In fact, as of that 12-20-1979 "Top of the Pops" clip, the Professionals was the band name they usually played under.

Your video, by the by, was for a side project between Lynott and Jones and Cook called "The Greedy Bastards." For TV, they shortened it to "The Greedies." A single release of "A Merry Jingle" was the only fruit of their labor.

They appeared again on 12-31-1979:

The Greedies, "A Merry Jingle" ("The 'Will Kenny Everett Make It To 1980?' Show," Thames Television, Monday, December 31, 1979)
