Meanwhile, I hate to see ya'll go! I really do!

Colorado and Washington have legalized pot! And anyone can live happily ever after in Maryland. And there are other initiatives! A free-er, stronger nation of free people who respect each other's rights!

And with a strong Senate, and no campaign for President for the President, it's strictly FORWARD!!!

As That Man In The White House enjoyed so many years ago, here's a song to our future!

While I don't partake in post smoking myself, I certainly have no problems with it being legalised. I'm quite sure that the negative effects of alcohol consumption costs our countries far more than cannabis. Not least because one often has violent side-effects, whereas the other does quite the opposite.

I'm sorry to say that it appears that a campaign supported by an online friend has not been successful. The sad story is here:

You Americans take elections seriously, guess some Aussies do too (though I can't stand our PM and the opposition leader is even worse)
Personally I am happy to see Obama back, he seems like a decent person and I hope the economy improves (though equally hope that the US dollar doesn't improve too much against the aussie $).

Seriously, I'm really sorry to hear about the gentleman from Arkansas, and what he's been through, but it was predictable there. Like nobody smokes pot in Arkansas?? And this is, of course, just a medical marijuana issue that was put before voters. (In Colorado, at least, it's completely legal for recreational use. Except the feds may not see it their way.) It must be done, clearly, on the federal level. The President should know of this man's story.

I'm really sorry to hear about this. It's time for this ridiculous destructive "war on drugs" to just end. So that real addicts are not hunted down as animals, and people like this will get needed medicine that is mostly harmless, especially in this usage, where it is necessary.

Hope this comes to pass. Too late for some folks.

P.S. -- Doc, I posted that twitter pic on my Facebook wall last night, and I was so excited I DO NOT REMEMBER DOING IT! (And I clearly did it. Directly from the President's wall. And I have no memory of it! {As you can see, it was only caffeine free diet coke!})

Understand I found the whole thing silly, and when the President won re-election I did not want to embarrass the man. After all, I'd been confidently predicting Obama's re-electon here on FECC for almost three years now.

I do love Mystery Train's final post in this old thread! (His post is addressed to "chevyford," a one-time regular, who seems to have, uh, moved on . . .)

Time served.
Unfortunately, America's is just beginning.

Sure the game was beneath him, but don't you

Well when Obama pulls you up too you'll think otherwise. Of course, let's hope he doesn't listen to Republicans and make some sort of "grand bargain"- or sell out as I call it- on social security, medicare, and medicaid.

I do hope he learns something from the way Republicans are negotiating. You're supposed to ask for the world to start out, not begin in concession as he did on the idiotic debt ceiling talks last year. I wish actually congress would do something to abolish the debt ceiling. We shouldn't be having an annual showdown about bills we've already accrued.
