Really enjoyed the Shindig! clips.
I had no idea that Jerry Lee had a sister in the entertainment field.
You can see a similarity around their mouths.
I wonder how the Killer felt about his kid sis' paying homage to Elvis?

James looks pretty cool, if not somewhat out of place, in his "mod" clothes.
I prefer the college prep look with Ricky Nelson, but lots of fun.

Both James and Glen seem a little self-conscious doing "Ticket To Ride." Burton kind of blows the solo!

One wonders if Elvis watched the show -- he might have. And if he did, was there some kind of subtle impression left watching Burton and Hardin play? Both would be hired in July 1969 for the Presley band.

I was 7 years old when I saw this,but I seem to remember the host of the show reading (supossedly) a letter from the Beatles to Elvis,the gist of which was that they liked him and wanted to meet him.
Is that acurate?Is my memory failing me?

I am old enough to remember the 30th B-Day in 1965(ouch).
Seems one of the teen shows at that time(Shindig or Hullabaloo)had a special birthday tribute to Elvis that year.

It was "Shindig!" and actually went down a few months after the actual birthday.

No!
It wasn't a birthday tribute at all.

As for your memories, sadly, some people seem delighted in calling them bogus.

I found a fantastic ad and want to share it with all of you, for the August 17, 1969 U.S. re-broadcast of the NBC-TV "Singer presents Elvis" special, apparently the last screening until November 20, 1977:
