The two photos posted by Ito Eats are known to be from December 12, 1968. The woman in the photos, holding a copy of the 1957 Christmas LP, is super-fan Virginia Coons.

The one posted by Matt Ashton is circa November-December 1968. Elvis is wearing a different jacket and scarf, too.

I agree they are different Jackets, these are the dates given, but they seem at odds too with the other photo's in the group??

The number 2, in your series of four, I have in my files as the 14th but can't remember where the date came from unfortunately.

Picture # 1 is Saturday, 30th November 1968

Picture # 2 & 3 is Thursday, 12th December 1968

These photos have been up for discussion earlier and with different dates coming from the photographers themselves so it is not easy to put a correct date on them.
I have the following five dates which I believe are pretty correct but I´m not 100% sure.
November 29, 1968

The ones from November 29 and December 12 were taken by Virginia Coons and from what I have heard she was careful to put dates on her photos back when she took them.
The December 14 photo was taken by Alexandria (Sandi) Miller and has been dated as both November 28 and December 20 by herself. I have had it as December 14 for many years.

Stop for a moment with all the dating work -- much appreciated -- and just imagine how incredibly cool it would have been to see Elvis just before and just after the Tuesday, December 3, 1968 NBC-TV Special broadcast. Surely they spoke to him about watching it.

"Singer Presents Elvis" blew up his career in a BIG way. You can almost see the nervous anticipation in the pre-December 3 photos, and the post-December 3 confidence.

He was back. He knew it.
