In this one, it appears we have a previously-unknown shot from one of the March 1956 Dorsey rehearsals.

And it is curious to discover Nick Adams claim he accepted an opening slot offer from Elvis on the Presley show doing impressions of Hollywood stars. Adams was definitely around on the October 1956 tour, but is it known that he was one of the acts that preceded Presley? Nick's additional comment that Elvis came out and introduced him is almost certainly false.

I know there are always a lot of people reading these magazines I post. Some of them thank me from time to time. Some of them here on this forum, some of them privately. I do appreciate that. Oh -- and does anyone know if Nick Adams took an opening slot on the Presley show, doing impressions of Hollywood stars? It would have been on the October 1956 tour.

I don't know if Nick was one of the openings acts from October tour, but his book (The Rebel and the King) is waiting for me at the postal office, tomorrow i will have in my hands. If i'll find some new informations i'll be happy to share.
I know for sure he was one of the opening acts in Tupelo, September 26.

Ok, looks great.

Adams helped open the afternoon (and probably evening) shows in Tupelo -- cool. Maybe that was the only time, and Nick was "enhancing" his story a tad. But there is no way Elvis introduced him and walked off. The crowd would have gone bananas.
