Member vs. Member "Loser Leaves The Forum" Election Match

In the spirit of the old wrestling matches "Loser Leaves Town",
I thought we could do something similar here. Pick your candidate
to win and if the person (member) you call out excepts the match
you are honor bound to the terms set in your challenge. Let's keep
it somewhat friendly, remember those wrastlers from yesteryear
would always show back up. You have to have your challenge in
and accepted on or before 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time November 6, 2012.

Ths forum is made up of more than just American citizens you know.......I thought politics had to be kept out of things.
The other members do not carry on this much when there is an election in other countries.......believe it or not, but the world doesn't revolve around America.

BTW, the mathematics of this is challenging! How many weeks, Ian? I called you out, but changed it to Blue. You would be "doing time" too much!

So, Blue, are you tough enough? 4 weeks on the net is like FOUR YEARS! (Geez, four weeks without FECC? I'd go crazy. And I'd take a week out of it, if I was on vacation, to give updates, and then resume on return.)

Also, if anyone is ill, or has a family member who is ill or in an accident or something, you can stop the clock and let us know how you are. And then resume. That's fair, right?

Robin....I know , it would be difficult to take......but it's all said very tongue in cheek.
I just despair for your East Coast at the moment....one minute on our news items, we see how it's getting cold over there and people are still without power and water, then the next minute a news item comes on whereby the reporters will tell us how many millions have been spent THAT DAY on the election campaign. I am not naive enough to think that disasters aren't allowed for in any countries budget, but I can't help but think about the people without their homes at this time. Australia has had it's own share of bad things happen, and we, as do Americans bounce back, but at the time it's happening there is so much despair around and seeing the worried faces on the kids is horrific.
Elections are happening all around the world at any given time, some of them aren't as democratic as elections in our own countries and a lot of people die during these so called elections...I just can't for the life of me see how fair it is that one person may or may not win an election because of the amount of money is poured into it.
As I have already said previously, I certainly hope Mr. Obama wins this one....as he is a great friend of this country...and an ally of Australia certainly wins on all counts.

You are correct. The storm and its aftermath is the most important thing. And money has totally corrupted everything this year.

A new storm is building in the Atlantic, and will hit from Wednesday to Friday, in the same area! It's just unbelievable. One hopes the water will be cooler, and knock the storm out some. It's hard to imagine.

Thanks for the reality check.

(But a bet is a bet. Blue?)

Actually most of the political discussions on this board are started by people that aren't from the United States.

Just the other day PaulSweeney started one.

A few months back ColinB started a thread about the United States healthcare system.

A lot of the people that discuss U.S. politics on this board aren't American.

There is a lot of interest in U.S. politics and the presidential election on this board from non americans.

You seem to be in the minority Carolynlm.

I pick Obama, and I will take all challengers at four weeks each.

Just quote this message back to challenge me, if you want a piece of the action.

If I lose, I'll just drop in to say farewell and total up my "sentence."

But I'm putting my faith in America -- and probabilities -- on this one.
