When did you? The only version of My Way issued on single was Rapid City ...

It is also possible the April 1977 recording was chosen as it comes from the same tour as the version of "Unchained Melody," which was released in Elvis' lifetime on Moody Blue. The June 1977 recording was issued posthumously.

I think most people who would like to speak to him about this release are likely to not speak to him nicely!

Coincidence? Nah.

Unless you spoke to Roger, you cannot make this statement with any credibility.

The set appears to be a sentimental release driven by Roger Semon, and geared more for the European Presley fan base. That said, if you like '70s Elvis, this is a very nice collection of some of his very best recordings of the period in great quality, and the ones that the average fan heard the most in that decade, as they were meant for radio play.
FTD over the years got a lot of unjust critisism and redicule, however I think critisism is right this time. How good intentions may be: the contents of previously released masters do not justify the regular high price the collectors label is charging for the release.
Then don't buy it!
Hope this helps solve the issue.
Ironically, I understand that "orders have been good" for this release.

Every time I look into one of your "discoveries," the argument is revealed to be fallacious.
Hitstory, a 2005 collection which couples the chart-busting ELV1S (2001) and 2nd to None (2002), actually does not have a version of "My Way" at all, unless you live in the U.K. It seems the U.S. and U.K. were each afforded a "Bonus" -- that pesky noun again -- CD, and this resulted in two different 30-track listings. Neither of them held #1 or #2 hits, either.
But such distractions on your part only serve to prove that the points I made about FTD's Hits of the '70s, a compilation of minor interest except to the hard core fan base, were right on the money. So thank you!

Uh, Doc, not for nothing , but "Elvis: 30 #1 Hits" and Second To None" were released in the states in 2002 and 2003, respectively.
