hi
i'd like to ask you if you have ever felt 'betrayed' by elvis, for supporting Nixon ?
Fri Nov 02, 2012 7:50 pm
I've never given it a thought for one second.
And guess what......
Fri Nov 02, 2012 7:55 pm
you're strange

I never knew Elvis supported Nixon.
Did Elvis ever vote for Nixon?
Did Elvis ever raise money for Nixon or give money to his campaign's?
Did Elvis ever go to pro Nixon rallies?
Did Elvis ever personally campaign for Nixon?
Did Elvis ever say publicly that he supported Nixon?
I wouldn't care if Elvis did support Nixon but i find that this question is pointless because he didn't.

Why on earth? Elvis went to visit the President of The United States of America and was admitted which was a miracle on its own. Watergate hadn't even happened yet. So why feel betrayed?

are you the kind of guy who dont want to see the truth ?
elvis shook hands with nixon, wrote a letter of admiration to nixon, took one day or more to meet the "vietnam war president" ...

You should have more options.
Like for instance: I am in another country, so there is no way that it would affect me either way.
Or: I wasn't born yet when Elvis died, so nothing he did could make me feel betrayed.
Or: Elvis was not known to me personally, so there is no way that any action of his could betray me.
Oh, and everything brian said.

And had the president of the time been Clinton, Obama, or either Bush, the actions would have been (pretty much) the same.

Ahhh that's what it's all about, for your information Nixon inherited the Vietnam War which was blown out of all proportion by his predecessor the Democratic Johnson.

That didn't mean anything.
Elvis wanted something from Nixon so he sucked up a little bit in the letter.
By the way you are suppose to be nice and respectful to the President when you meet them or talk to them.
Elvis would have done the exact same thing if Hubert Humphrey had been president.

Elvis was a complicated person. He liked Nixon as a person.
He never voted for him, so it's all good!
What's YOUR opinion, l'homme question?
You failed to answer the last time I asked on one of these topics you love to post.

Not true. Elvis voted for George Klein as Humes High Class President in the fall of 1952.

And what did Elvis get out of it? A special Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs badge. So the sucking up to Nixon worked.

How do we know Elvis didn't vote at all? He never voted?

You have to register in order to vote in a general election. Is no record of Elvis Presley ever registering, or of anyone recalling him making it out to the polls.
However, Elvis did vote for George Klein as Humes High Class President in the fall of 1952.

Betrayed, no way... What a strange question.
Elvis was Elvis. He wanted to see the President, he wanted a new badge. I'm pretty sure he would have gone to Washington in December 1970 regardless of who was in the Oval Office.
When I first read about some of things he said to Nixon (Beatles, drugs etc...) I'll admit I felt disappointed...
