Re: Hurricane Sandy to hit NY & other parts this weekend?

Ignore off-topic BS.

Meanwhile, this is silent video footage of the Con Ed plant that exploded. It is not to be believed. There were enormous fires in Queens, and the devastation in New Jersey is horrific! Kudos to Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ) for his excellent handling of the situation in his state. He has acted, for the most part, only in the best interests of the people of New Jersey, putting any politics totally aside, and has been comforting people who have lost everything in the destruction. (There has been a minor skirmish with the mayor of Atlantic City, regarding statements prior to the full brunt of the storm, but other than that . . .)

Republicans and Democrats need to pull together as one on this issue.
And so far I'm pleased with Mitt Romney and President Obama trying to
help their fellow Americans.

I doubt anyone is looking on an Elvis Forum for advice on how to handle
the aftermath of such a terrible event. But unfortunately these storms bring
out scam/con artists in droves. Don't pay for services in advance, especially
with cash
. Whatever work you need done on your homes or things like
driveways and tree removal - get the work done first.

And I know it's hard, but please keep patient. Those linemen will work as fast
as they can. It's such a dangerous job, I know because my brother is one of
them.

You must be very proud of him; we are all grateful to those with the courage to do this work, wherever they are. Right now, the linemen back east deserve the greatest respect and thanks!
