On the set of COH, Elvis introduced a guy named "Doc" to the RS interviewer.

Who is he, and HOW did he get there?????

Southerners pronounce "belt" as though it were "built." The also pronounce "built" as "built." So the jury will always be out on the Big Mystery.

Ever heard "pen" down south? You won't, because people say "ink pen," to distinguish between "pin" and "ink pen," both of which are pronounced the same.

..

rjm (now who did Elvis introduce to the Rolling Stone reporter on the set of Change of Habit, and HOW did "he" get THERE?)

That's because they were meant to make one feel a little uneasy. They were meant to make one say oh...how wrong, I can't believe he just asked that!!!. I see it got the desired affect. And now you have...a clue.

Scatter got an offer to write a tell-all book, but they offered him peanuts........ instead of bananas.

Did Elvis ever watch Bruce Lee on the big screen and what were he views? I bet Kang Rhee would not have liket Elvis to see how great bruce was....... Surely Ed Parker must have told Elvis about Bruce????

Not trying to argue with you rjm, but I think it's clear what Elvis meant.

I've lived in the south all of my forty years, including the last eleven plus years in Memphis and I have never heard anyone pronounce "belt" as "built". Many do pronounce the word "fail" as "fell" or "tail/tale" as "tell".

For example, "My daddy dropped out of school after he felled the tenth grade".

And southerners don't say "ink pen". They say "ank pen".
