He´s A Problem Husband

What an ironic title. Was the piece really laid out mostly in landscape mode? That's a little unusual.

The article by Polly Terry has some moments of interest. Elvis really did live at the Burbank studio during production. And the marriage, despite all the platitudes, was going through a rough patch -- hello, Susan Henning.

The Elvis quotes are likely from the NBC press conference (6-25-1968), not a one-on-one interview, and it's also ironic how he says, in regards to live work, "No, I wouldn't want to do a lot of one night stands again." Things would be so different in six short years.

Terry was obviously back at NBC Burbank that Saturday (6-29-1968), to watch one of the stand up tapings and some of the production work done right after. It's kind of exciting to read a description of the TV special months before its U.S. broadcast. Boy, was the country going to be surprised!

Let's not forget, Elvis met and started his fling with Susan on the set of Live A LIttle Love A Little some weeks before the filming of the 68 special in Burbank. I seem to remember he wasn't aware she'd managed to get the part on the show until she turned up, hoping to surprise him...

So it was no surprise they split so soon after. He loved her in 1959,
like he loved Linda in 1972/73 and Ginger early '77. But his bigest
love remains Ann Marget...their mutal respect lasted over 13 years....
Noone came close....

I didn't realize Elvis had a fling with the blonde from the '68 Special.

exactly.....i think he fell 'in and out of love' easily
