Has it ever been established exactly why Scotty and Bill weren't there for the session?

On thing I would like corrected on the story about Elvis and his 1958 Lincoln he got in June 1958 is where the car was purchased---- multiple places seem to note it as coming from Schilling Motors--- Schilling Motors never existed until October 1958. In June 1958, the Lincoln dealer in Memphis was Gilmore Motors--- which was also the Edsel dealership. Schilling bought Gilmore out and formed Schilling Motors on October 22, 1958.
At any rate, I am looking to find photographs of him picking up the car if they exist--- Gilmore Motors is of interest to me in this matter- if photos don't exist I, too, would love to know what happened to the car and if anything exists to document he did buy it there. Thanks
