One of my favorites from the 70's. I guess it's the fact that it differs from his usual 70's ballads and recordings. It's straight up pop. Something he didn't do much of in the final years.

Great Song from Elvis; now if the Master Take can be remixed and Mastered to sound as good as the alternate/outtakes that have been released.

Its Easy For You is the worst studio track on Moody Blue; and arguably the worst recording from the Jungle Room sessions.

Burning Love
Do you mean The Last Farewell is the worst? If so then I agree. It doesn't fit with what he was recording at the time. But it wasn't on Moody Blue.

Should we be ashamed to like this song?
I don't, can spin this one 10 times after eachother without getting bored.
there aren't many songs where i can do that with.

From a technical standpoint, it is not particularly well-sung. And, Elvis only gave the engineers two chances to get it right. But, the naked denial and despair somehow attract many of us to it. Listen closely as he sings "I should go back to them," near the end of the song. He's almost yelling.
"He's honest, that's the main thing. He's honest. And he's got vibes, you know?"

Take 1 [The Jungle Room Sessions FTD], heard free from obtrusive overdubs and in a mix that finally gave prominence to Elvis' aching vocal, is quite a revelatory and poignant performance.
I will be interesting to see if FTD do anything with the much maligned overdubbed master [i.e. remix] whenever they turn their attention to the Moody Blue album.
All going well, the undubbed master [take 2] should make it's debut here too.

The following cuts on the Moody Blue album are better than "It's Easy For You":
Unchained Melody
If You Love Me (Let Me Know)
Little Darlin'
He'll Have To Go
Let Me Be There
Way Down
Pledging My Love
Moody Blue
She Thinks I Still Care
Ok, maybe it's better than "Little Darlin'" - maybe.

Utter drivel. By this point he could no longer turn drivel into high art as he had done through most of his career. The only thing going for it back in the day was it was an actual new 'studio' recording. How far the mighty had fallen. For those that like it,enjoy. Heck i love The Love Machine. Sick,i know.

Always loved this song and Elvis' performance.
Never understand the dislike so many have for it.
Very emotional and devoted performance by elvis to me.
