Vanilla Fudge - Near The Beginning

Tonight I've listened to:
The Very Best of Jackie Wilson
A Touch More Schmilsson In the Night
Complete Elvis Presley Masters - Disc 1 (the Sun tracks only)
And the other night I listened to Discs 1, 2 & 3 of Young Man with the Big Beat after it finally arrived. Going to wait a few days 'til I've got some nice downtime on my own in the house to chill out and listen to Discs 4 & 5. The family already have to put up with my music as it is, I'm sure they won't appreciate me sitting there listening to over an hours worth of Elvis interviews!
God I love music.

Have a "Winter Romance" with Dean MartinDean Martin's "Winter Romance." It's secular, it's seasonal and it's so smooth you'll want to sip it over ice by the fire. Released in November of 1959 at the height of Dino's cool lounge years, this delightful collection was the boozing crooner's first holiday foray for Capital Records...http://www.examiner.com/vinyl-records-i ... ean-martin

Over the weekend, Willie Nelson's excellent Songbird, Six Hours at Pedernales and the superb collection, Naked Willie. Robbie Williams' Escapology and Sing When You're Winning. Miles Davis's brilliant Porgy & Bess and Filles de Kilimanjaro. Bing Crosby: The Complete United Artists Sessions
And, right now, a little playlist with Professor Green "At Your Inconvenience," Jay-Z and Alicia Keys "Empire State of Mind," Jay-Z and Kanye West "Otis," Jamie Cullum "Gran Torino, " Willie Nelson and Lionel Richie "Easy," and Willie Nelson and Aerosmith "Once is Enough."

Songbird is a lovely album. I've been having a marathon of rather unusual big band albums: one with Kay Starr and Count Basie, the one with Bing Crosby and Basie (with a swing version of Snowbird), and the rare Duke Ellington album featuring songs from the musical All American. The latter is very uninspired, and there is good reason why it hasn't been releasd on CD!
