Re: Last cd you bought !!!
I'm really enjoying Shakira's latest album. Empire and Can't Remember to Forget You are standout tracks. Medicine, which features Blake Shelton, is also very good. But this is a fine album overall.

Re: Last cd you bought !!!
I struggle a bit with Paolo. He's likeable and has a good sound, but he also seems introverted as a performer at times. As though he's too self-involved despite an audience present. At least that's how I sometimes feel when watching him perform. But he's got some infectious material on this album and the previous one. That cover looks quite Saul Bass-inspired. The cover of Frank Sinatra's 1980 album, Trilogy: Past, Present and Future, which Bass designed, springs to mind.

Peter Paul & Mary's greatest hits. Always wanted to get it and now, after all these years, finally did. Great harmonies. I think Elvis dug them also. Probably got him into folk music.

Re: Last cd you bought !!!
I picked up the Original Album Series 5CD set of Dinah Washington that came out recently. It contains Dinah's five Roulette albums in straight CD issues with no bonus tracks, but the sound appears to be better than previous incarnations (comparing the two versions of In Love).
Many suggest that Dinah sold out in these, her final albums. But I've never bought the idea that a change of direction is the same as selling out. These are, for the most part, pop albums rather than jazz or blues albums, but Dinah's still in great voice and the Don Costa-arranged In Love and Drinkin' Again albums are enjoyable enough, and Back to the Blues is a fine album indeed. Dinah 62 and Dinah 63 (the latter was a posthumous release) make up the other two titles. A 5CD set of Sarah Vaughan albums was released at the same time, although I'm not a fan of Vaughan and so haven't picked that one up.
