A journey through classic old American folk songs that even I know well given the garage grunge rock treatment by Neil and Crazy Horse. As with a lot of Crazy Horse it takes a couple of listens to decipher the melodies but once you do you just get it.I'm sure a lot of rehearsal went into it but it all sounds like a one take jam with mistakes left in.(after Clementine you can just about hear Neil say he's fooked up)

Although I have the box set From Nashville to Memphis: The Essential 60's Masters... I couldn't pass this one... in a sale bin for $2 still sealed.

"King of the Whole Wide World" includes Boots Randolph's saxophone ending, which many other discs edit out.

EARTHY/GOLDEN FOLK HITS by Bobby Darin

I bought this Exemplar label CD when it first came out and sold it again a few years later along with most of my collection when I went to university. It now regularly fetches about £100. However, right place and right time meant I picked it up again last week on ebay for under a quarter of that - almost felt sorry for the seller, but that's the way it goes sometimes. Very pleased to have it back in the collection, though.
