Fantastic. I was a little dubious about how different the remasters would sound but they really blow me away. I haven't done much research in the way of reviews regarding the audio quality so I don't know what the general audiophile consensus is on these releases but for me they are top notch. First The Beatles, then Elvis and now Queen have got the ultimate treatment to their catalogues by way of modern remasters - and all are just brilliant. The Deluxe Versions (they've done this for all their albums, with some being released later on this year) are kind of like scaled down versions of FTD Classic Albums. Disc 1 features the original album remastered, with Disc 2 being labelled as a Bonus EP, featuring typically around 5 or 6 tracks that complement the original album. So we are talking alternate takes, un-issued or recently found tracks from the sessions/era, remixes, live performances etc.
I haven't had proper time yet to divulge into the second discs yet, mainly focusing on the original albums and the stellar remastering job. These 1970s albums actually sound like they were recorded today and I'm not just saying that. It puts the sound quality of say Elvis' 1970 material to complete and utter shame.
I tell you, you have not heard "Bohemian Rhapsody" 'til you've heard this new remaster! Amazing.
Also, for the record, I purchased all their first 5 albums in these recently remastered deluxe editions. The next five are due to be released at the end of this month. They've also done the same for their legendary greatest hits compilation, which is the biggest selling album in the UK of all time I believe.
cheers for the info, looks like its time for me to pick these deluxe editions up !
If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits eighty-eight miles per hour... you're gonna see some serious sh*t
Ah,the "disco" album.Thank god for Brian May's Put Out The Fire, and the underrated Las Palabras De Amor for just about saving the album along with Under Pressure.Body Language must be the worst song Freddie ever wrote although
Cool Cat runs it close. In my view it's the worst Queen album but it has it's moments.
Talking about Las Palabras De Amor did you see the cringeworthy Top Of the Pops with Freddie in a dinner suit and Brian stuck behind the keyboards,oh dear.didn't do too much for sales although perhaps the Spanish title and lyrics
didn't help at the time of the Falklands war.Never mind it's a song that i've always loved.

The entire band looks bored on that TOTP clip, just going through the motions.
I have to say, though, I'm rather fond of this LP. It's......different. Back Chat, Staying Power and Calling All Girls in particular.
There are no LP to CD releases by Kathy Kirby, so I bought this one featuring LP tracks.
More CD's (featuring LP tracks) are on their way.
A lot of the tracks on the CD's are songs from singles and EP's.
Now if only her 1960's TV shows would be available on DVD......
Not one of their top albums, although it was huge in the USA for the band but sounding good in the new remaster especially the funky drums and bass driven Another One Bites The Dust and Dragon Attack.Think i'll go for News Of The World next as the CD version I have sounds terrible.

Yes it's a good album but at only 35 mins and a couple of filler tracks it's no Night At The Opera but in Dragon Attack,Crazy Little Thing called Love and Play The Game it's better than some of the later albums.Too many singles though which would carry on through all the rest of the albums.
This is the first one with synths which sound a little dated but are used fairly sparingly thankfully but some of the creative magic was lost when they started using them I think.

Did they call you a boring old Fool and tell to put some rock music on !
Yeah they did actually! I only played the more uptempo stuff and cooler tracks. I skipped the dramatic love ballads. 3 young fellas in a car listening to "Crying" wouldn't have been a good look!
It was more in the vain of these tracks:
Oh, Pretty Woman
Ooby Dooby
You Got It
Dream Baby
Blue Bayou
Claudette
Uptown
etc.
