Chat talk and light discussion

HI ALL

Thu Dec 22, 2005 4:29 am

Newbie here - just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I have been an avid Elvis fan since I was about 5. Was probably my mother's stack of old 45's that got me hooked. My first Elvis LP, the blue and yellow jacketed "Elvis" by Brookville records; my second was the soundtrack for Aloha from Hawaii.

I recently met (via ebay) Jon Romanovich and it is he I owe the gratitude for introducing me to this site.

I have an interesting story about talking to the infamous Col. Parker I'd like to post but am unsure of what forum to use.

Colonel Parker is not a very popular dude here, but putting him in the All Elvis section fits better than some we've talked about.

Welcome to the board. Fasten your seatbelt and enjoy the ride.

Thanks much.

Parker was never popular with me either.

Him or his boy-toy I spoke with on the phone.

Maybe so - at least that was my guess. It was some clown that worked for him that was every bit as obnoxious as Parker was.

He hung up on me so I must have done something right :D

Why were you ringing him, Mr Swede? Was it because you wanted to know which belt Elvis wore with the Waterfall Shooting Star Three-Piece Suite?

Actually, that particular outfit has a 'built-in' belt, so the question would not have been necessary.

Ever see that SNL skit where the fans ask Shatner questions at a Trek convention? The guy with the rubber ears asks "in episode 27, you mentioned ---- but then in episode 51, you said -----." and Shatner has that "who cares" look-response?

I kind of look at the belt question like that only without the rubber ears.

Swede
and every other new member, who is to shy to post an introduction:

It's good of you to join.
Welcome to the ether.
It can become truly addictive.
No, really.
Welcome to our world.

No, don't lose the rubber ears - they're your best feature. Much better than your over-active imagination.

Coming from a man named "Tits", I'm flattered.
