#1834688

Post by Walter Hale 4 »

UPDATE: Topic will now be featuring and collate all of location vid's (also known as then and now) as and when I/We find these :D

With this topic, as a celebration to what was , without a shadow of a doubt, the best year for motion pictures, i am just going to look for and add "Then and Now" location vid's as and when i find them. Hope this thread will gather some feedback and input along the way.

Hows about these - for starters ?

“In everyone’s life there’s a summer of ’42.”

Summer of '42 is a 1971 American coming-of-age comedy-drama film based on the memoirs of screenwriter Herman Raucher. It tells the story of how Raucher, in his early teens on his 1942 summer vacation on Nantucket Island (off the coast of Cape Cod), embarks on a one-sided romance with a young woman, Dorothy, whose husband has gone off to fight in World War II.

Original TV Spots of "Play Misty for Me" released, 1971 Universal Picture. Starring Clint, Jessica Walter & Donna Mills. Yeah i know it's not exactly relevant to this topic but it's better to put it here than to start up a new thread and with a measly 60 seconds vid ? Hope to find some more original adds and add them here (including foreign ones) as this year moves on, AYE :D

here's a look at locations for The Omen - 1976 , includes Guildford Cathedral, All Saints Church, Pyreford Court and Brookwood Military Cemetery.
Most locations filmed by drone (some places had flying restrictions, so only hand-held shots were possible). The mansion that housed Robert & Katherine Thorn was at Pyreford Court, but a high brick wall restricts a drone signal and couldn't be flown toward it.

next is filming location, scene where Dr Who actor Patrick Troughton meets his end.

KING CREOLE (1958) Filming Locations | New Orleans, LA - French Quarter | Elvis THEN AND NOW 2021

good one by Going to the movies who says they "filmed this video during our New Orleans trip back in March. I edited it a couple of months ago, but haven't had the opportunity to upload it yet.
Definitely worth a watch if you're an Elvis or filming locations fan. It is absolutely incredible to see how many of these locations remain the same after so many years!"

The Shining (1980) Overlook Hotel - Then & Now Filming Locations

Good video by Jared Tipton who says that he took a trip to Oregon to visit the spooky Overlook Hotel (Timberline Lodge) from Stanley Kubrik's version of The Shining.
Sitting at the base of the impressive Mount Hood, the Timberline did not disappoint!

Searching for TRUE GRIT 1968 filming locations ...

A confused and at times inept journey into the Colorado wilderness searching for the filming locations of Henry Hathaway's western classic "TRUE GRIT" (1969)
From the meadow where John Wayne delivers one of his most famous lines of dialog to the actual courthouse courtroom featured in this iconic American masterpiece...sit back and "fill your hands, you son-of-a-bitch."

Enjoy!
