Courtesy of 'Elvis-Life Thru A Lens', this interesting photo shows Elvis leaving a Doctors Office on the street in Beverly Hills taken on Nov. 27th 1971 and it looks like the long-haired young man in the first photo with his back to the camera is totally unaware who he has just walked past.
What do you think?

The dating on these photos may be incorrect. Most place them a month earlier. I wrote about these before. Notice Elvis has a patch on his right eye, he was seeing his eye doctor again for the problem that first cropped up in Nashville in March. On the wall behind Elvis it appears to say:

N BEDFORD
BLDG

Just for fun, here are the five known 416 N. Bedford Drive, Beverly Hills photos of Elvis from October 1971, in sequence:

Pretty strange, but whenever I see a photo of Elvis on the streets in the '70s, acting and looking like a normal person, my first reaction is "this photo must be a fake".

I'm so used to see him on stage dressed in a jumpsuit, and his image was so larger-than-life in this period, that it seems surreal to study the photos above.

Love the guy in the white shirt, almost like he's saying 'Excuse me your in my way'
and off he walks down the street like he's oblivious of who he's just walked past!

And to this day that guy if he is still alive somewhere likely has never seen that pic and has no idea he was that close to Elvis. :D

Only in LA and Manhattan would someone not notice a guy dressed like Elvis and carrying a walking stick!

Indeed :D I know he may look a bit more normal than on stage in a Jumpsuit but it still isn't really normal & typical every day attire that he is decked out in even for the '70's. My Dad was only a year older than Elvis so I remember how the average man in his mid/late 30's dressed then. Suffice to say if my old man had rocked up at the local opticians like that in our Town he would have stopped traffic......

He's really not dressed very wild here, especially for 71, and especially in Beverly Hills. I dressed wilder than that for school.

I think it is interesting in those sequence shots how Elvis is not making any effort at all to move out of the way as a random man on the sidewalk passing by has to twist to avoid colliding with EP - all the while EP is just casually smoking his cigar, eyeing the photographer and gently holding his cane.

(The guy could have turned around and had a picture with Elvis  !)

he still has, yamaguchi! not just 1, but 3 pictures with the king!

i wonder what the pedestrian thought.
maybe: better to slip casually by and not look him into the eye. could be a gangster boss or a pimp or both and his henchmen are right there, loading the car. :smt005
