That's not San Antonio - Elvis hair was shorter, and combed off his forehead at the start at the end of the show.

This is probably from the Macon, GA 4/15/72 ES. Elvis' hair matches other photos from that show.

Bodie is right he is ending a song raises his arm up, flips the bird quickly and moves his arm in the other direction to stop the music. He is facing the Stamps and Inspirations what he does all the time in those days joking with them. This photo is just a fraction of the move it all goes very fast. He does the same in the outtakes of Hampton Roads.

As a kid I thought the cover was exciting, including the 1972 photo. RCA had already used one for the LP that came out a few months earlier. Maybe management had a relative in Roanoke.

However, although RCA had the Hawaiian double LP on an accelerated release schedule much like the New York live LP six months earlier, it is a shame they could not have readied everything as we know it, but held off on printing the inner sleeve until maybe January 16th. They could have had a day or two to analyze actual photos from the concert, and chosen one.

Now THAT would have been a great cover. I'd even have forgave the sloppy photo with the Hawaiian women....
The "windup" photo didnt bother me at the time, since we'd seen him do that move 3 times prior to Aloha.
