The second photo appears in page 126 of the original "Elvis '56" book, but it's not really captioned. Beside this image, there's another photo of Elvis kissing another girl, and it's captioned as "signing autographs in his backyard for some neighborhood fans".

The same girl appears again with Elvis and Gladys in the preceding page, a different photo from the one above, but also unidentified.

Elvis' girlfriend at the time was Barbara Hearn, who also appears in other Wertheimer photos taken the same day.

I would say this was one of the many neighbors who gathered at Audubon that day.

Sorry, I can't help with the name.

Not a girlfriend. Photos taken at 1034 Audubon in Memphis on Wednesday, July 4, 1956 by Al Wertheimer. These frames directly taken from in his wonderful 2006 photo essay, Elvis at 21: New York To Memphis, pages 202-203.

The following website captions the first photo as :

Mom, I am going to take a ride around the block with my Harley.” Looking on in the background is a relative, name unknown. In the Presley home, 1034 Audubon Dr. July 4, 1956.

Apparently Alfred Wertheimer does not know; I think he's been asking. I don't think that's a relative. (Yes, we've been discussing it. A minor mystery.)

She looks somewhat shy, and then, boom! There he is.
