Post here your Elvis' pictures

Request: 8/1/1969 Press Conference Pics

Wed Nov 06, 2013 2:38 pm

Guys,

Would anybody be willing to help me locate pictures from the 8/1/1969 press conference in Las Vegas, NV after Elvis's opening show that night (the 31st)? Before my hard drive bit the dust, I had a bunch of them saved and lost every single one of them when it got hit by lightning.

Thanks,
Tony

Your HD got hit by lightning? Is your workstation in the backyard?

Thanks, DJC! Yes, my external hard drive got zapped by lightning. We had a severe thunderstorm here a while back and we heard a "pop" - that's when we realized that it had hit something but little did I know that it was my external HDD - I lost well over 4,000 Elvis pictures and LOTS of music and drumming and guitar tutorial videos. :(

ETA: There a fairly good amount of these pics that aren't available anymore, it looks like.

Good Lord he was a handsome rascal! It's nearly impossible to find a "bad" photo of him from this period. 1969 was truly a magical year for Elvis Presley.

BTW, thanks for the link.

Struck by lightning! Your luck needs to change! Now. Good grief!

Now, I'm no electrician, but was everything grounded, and plugged into surge protectors? Perhaps it couldn't be prevented, but would those things help? I don't know.

I'm sorry, Tony. Wow.

Yep, everything was plugged into a surge protector but, even with the best of protection, they can still get hit, sadly. I bought a new one recently and am very slowly acquiring the music I lost and the pictures (including these). I also had about 800 candids from EOT and over 200 from AFH (saved those from TCB-World before it went down).
