Actually James, that´s not the Copacabana we see in the background of the first photo.

Elvis walked across the street to talk to the fans outside the La Casita Motel and Restaurant.
Most of the photos from Daytona Beach show the La Casita in the background.

That's great, Brian. Thanks.

By comparing the 1953 and the first 1956 shot, you can see Elvis is probably sitting down on the small wall just below the sign.
