Al Wertheimer photo in Memphis, Wednesday, July 4, 1956.

You can see Vernon, Gladys, and Minnie Mae Presley, and Barbara Hearn.

One wonders whose hand is patting Barbara's back?

I think its the guy that was in several shots at Audubon Dr. that day. A while back Alanna Nash and I were trying to ID him, to no avail. He looked like a Smith.

Wertheimer's use of available light is absolutely remarkable!

If you've never used a darkroom, you just don't know how great he is!

And he had a small camera, with a somewhat wide-angle-lens. His control over the light while shooting, choice of shots, and work in the darkroom is amazing.

all of the Elvis photographs were made with two black Nikon S-2, split range finder cameras - one of which had a 35mm f2.0 Nikor lens and the other had a 105mm f2.8 lens.

Thanks. I had only read about the 35mm.

Doesn't change the wonder!
