It's from the International Hotel in August 1969. It first appeared here, less cropped:

Elvis at his absolute prime...he never looked better before or since, IMHO.

Ah, nostalgia. One of the first Elvis books I ever owned. The photos in that book, along with Lichter's Boy Who Dared To Rock, shaped my early belief that Elvis was A-OK until 1975.

Even back then, as a teenage 'jock, something about a few of the Sundial photos didn't seem quite right. He looked a little too "good" in a few of them. Now we know why - they were shot in '74, not '77.

Still have my "well thumbed" copy of this book. Good times in 1978, discovering the man and his music.

Yes, yes! I've had that book for like forever! I bought it used; it was always a little worn, so I don't know exactly when I got it. It was definitely later than you got it, but it was a LONG time ago! And I LOVE this book!

Some of those shots, like this one, they were, uh, "for a science project." ;)

God, during the Comeback, he was beautiful!
