Might be the best pic from the Astrodome press conference of 1970.

IIRC, this is a screen grab from a film of the first Houston press conference on Wednesday, February 25, 1970.

I always thought this press conference was the one held in the Astroworld Hotel on the 27th and not the press conference from the airport the 25th. However I'm aware of the pic of Elvis stepping down from the plane on the 25th in what seems to be the exact same clothes.

My understanding is two 1970 press meets in Houston: 2-25 (Wed) and 3-01 (Sun).

Guralnick (Day by day) states three, 2-25, 2-27 and 3-01.

There are errors in that wonderful book by Peter Guralnick and Ernst Jørgensen, and that is one of them.

That is true, but can we be sure that this conference were held on the 25th and not on the 27th?

Pretty sure. Among other things, Elvis had TWO shows (2pm, 7:45pm) that day, the last thing he would be likely to do is a press conference, wearing the same clothes he flew in with two days before. All reports of 2-27 have him in the hotel before the first show, worried as heck. And then, after a disappointing turnout, fretting back at the hotel that he "didn't have it" anymore. Of course, the sold-out evening set changed his mind about that. ;-)

Yes, and screen grabs for me could never be great pictures. He looks so pale at the interview and the section is to little. It shows only part of his face. No, not a great picture for me.
