Discharged from a stay at the Baptist Hospital in Nashville, March 19, 1971

I´m not so sure these are from Nashville.
We see palmtrees in the background of the photo and I´m not so sure they had such ones in Nashville.
Or did they??

My guess would be from out in Los Angeles. Can anyone recognize any of the buildings in the background??

My source is Tunzi, but of course, he's not always reliable in dating photos. The problem however is that the first time Elvis was in LA after the "eye-thing" was April 10, three weeks after the hospital stay. And as far as I know this was the only time Elvis was wearing an eye patch.

Is that an eye patch, or a band-aid?

Being from the area myself, I would say the photo was taken in either West Los Angeles or Beverly Hills. If there are more photos from that day, I may be able to be more specific.

The photo is probably circa April 1971 in Los Angeles, perhaps a follow-up visit for treatment of his secondary glaucoma, Band-Aid above his right eye and protective eye-wear in place.

Identify the tall building in the background, behind his right shoulder, and you'll ascertain the exact location where he is standing. There may be some words on the side of the structure, perhaps it is a hotel.

Thank you for posting the complete image Kingcandids. Did anyone else notice that when enlarged it appears that Elvis has serious redness on the right side of his face? Or is that imperfections in the photo?

I think I have a match on the location. I believe Elvis is standing on the 400 north block of Bedford Drive in Beverly Hills with the cameras facing south towards Wilshire Blvd.



Note the building on the corner to the right of the first photo compared to this image.

When you see the number of doctors listed for that address on Google maps you will know why it was my first and only guess. It is a famous area for medical specialists of all kinds.
While Bedford Drive is now a one way street and cars would park in the opposite direction. I don't think it was a one way street in the 1970s.

Also, Sonny West is wearing the same jacket as he did when he went with Elvis to the Brentwood Lab on October 21, 1971 and Elvis has the same cane as he did this day.

According to Day-by-Day Elvis stayed at his new Monovale house for the first time on October 6, 1971, and in addition to Priscilla and Lisa Marie Sonny and Judy West and Charlie Hodge were permanent residents at the house. And here we have both Sonny and Charlie in the photo with Elvis.

I agree Doc, the rings are hard to see if they match the Oct 21 photos. I found this one from November 14, 1971 in Tuscaloosa and here we can better see the rings and they do look like the same ones he wears in the photos in this post.
Don´t they? Or is it just me wanting them to look the same

As Elvis might say, "It's very hard to comprehend."

But he didn't always wear so many like that on his right hand, so it's a good clue.
