What year & where??

Just found this pic on Facebook...new to me. Anyone have any info on this one?

I have a 1961-ish feeling. But I´m no expert.

I've been in a couple of discussions about the main photo in OP's post, and the general feeling is that it's probably March 12, 1960.

It is in 'The Elvis Files Vol. 2' as being from Christmas Day 1957 but in the series of photos which are from 25-12-57 Elvis has slightly different attire.

Between January and March 1958 is my guess.

There was a long discussion or two in the past that these shots were from 12-25-1957, based on the outfit, but eventually the general consensus was these were from late February - early March 1958.

My current feeling is they are from mid-March 1958, in Los Angeles, just before he left for Memphis on the evening of the 12th. See the photos below to note the very similar appearance in all of them.

Given his extra-spiffy tuxedo with cummerbund, and the preponderance of photos taken -- Elvis is clearly making an entrance -- this may be a movie premiere or some kind of Paramount function. It would be cool to find out once and for all what the heck this was!
