This comes from Gail Reaben and is a picture from her friend Marty's scrapbook of Joan Putman, Lois Ann, and Carol Mangham (Golemon) in Shreveport sitting on Elvis' Cadillac likely taken in March of 56during one of his last regular appearances at the Hayride.

Cool pic James.
The three girls are sitting on the hood of ElvisĀ“ light blue or powder blue 1954 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75 Sedan/Limousine which he had bought sometime around February/March 1956.
Could this be Joan, Lois Ann, Elvis, Carol, unknown on March 10, 1956?

By the way, thanks for the story about the 3 Amigas. Great reading.

Sincerely

Hi Brian, yeah, I figured from the roof rack it to be the one the band used on tour throughout that summer and the one pictured in Jacksonville Scotty packing up. Yes, those are the same girls, three of them, Joan Putnam, Lois Ann Harrington, Carol Mangham and Martha Ann Yearwood.

Interesting too, it looks like Mary or someone tried recording a license plate number in the caption.

PS Joan and Lois are now deceased, Lois at a very young age. Martha I'm not sure of.
PPS Thanks for the use of your photo on the 3 Amigas page too.

Yes, the license plate caption reads 2D 7120.
Gotta run, have an appointment at the dentist in 20 minutes.

SIncerely

Correction, Joan died at a young age. Gail showed me a copy of a telegram sent to Joan while in the hospital from Elvis (or on his behalf) on his birthday in 57. Carol said she believed Joan's father had a connection with the Sheriff's department and through them got the Telegram. While in the hospital they found cancer and she died their senior year.

For those that might be interested, Gail started posting things from Marty's scrapbook on eBay
See the seller and other items as they go up on this link. I expect that most if not all are vintage 56 copies from Carol's, and possibly Joan's, original negatives.
