Al Wertheimer took thousands of shots in 1956. I suspect we may see more of them at some point, courtesy of his estate. Although it's likely the finest have already seen print since his first publication in 1979, one of several, anything new will still be most welcome. He was a beautiful photographer.

One thing i always liked about Al's photos,he wasn't always after the profile close up shots,he had those already.
the fact that he ALSO took outside-looking in,backstage photos, that alone with complete access to his subject help make his picture's so special!

A huge thank ya for sharing mysterytrain!!

You're welcome.

AW was a very distinctive photographer - you know immediately a AW photo when you see it, you look at it and go "that's a werthiemer shot" before anyone tells you, they have a certain charm about them.

Here's more I found...

Fantastic photos, mysterytrainrideson! Thanks for posting.

Wertheimer took some cool photos in '56 and '58.

Wouldn't it be great to have all the Wertheimer photos (old and new) placed in one thread/gallery here on FECC?

Davide had a nice thematic approach in his corner over here at FECC. Looks like a good idea! We can start all kind of themes to build a sort of collective archive...
