Re: August 1970
What a real treat, I became a fan after I saw TTWII on TV many moons ago.
Then TWII was my 1st elvis album.
Till today I still can say that my favourite elvis concerts (from 69 to 77) are those from this august 70 period.
The vocals, the arrangments, the new current songs being played and elvis really enjoying it and in great moods.
And the studio sessions made on that year are one of my favourites from the 70s too...

When you see a shot of him getting into da music, all the way down to reaching back like this to close da song(band),tends to make one forget most of the later pics of him on stage, walking thru the show..
the first 3 photos really show(s) just how creative Elvis was on stage, while many a preformer would try and cover a mistake like a mike cutting out and move on hoping no one noticed,He took the mishap and made it COOL AS HELL by what he did!!!
thanks vegas.

Dennis, you just gave us a gift of almost unimaginable generosity. Thank you doesn't cover it; we've just been to an Elvis show in 1970, all we had to do was put on the music. Awesome!

Elvis Presley was an explorer of vast new landscapes of dream and illusion. He was a man who refused to be told that the best of his dreams would not come true, who refused to be defined by anyone else's perceptions. This is the goal of democracy, the journey on which every American hero sets out. That Elvis made so much of the journey on his own is reason enough to remember him with the honor and love we reserve for the bravest among us. Such men made the only maps we can trust.
